California Exhibit of Paul Badde's Photographs of Holy Face of Manoppello

At 4PM on December 31, 2008 Fr. Lawrence Goode, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in East Palo Alto, California, inauguarated an exhibit of photographs of the Holy Face of Manoppello taken by Paul Badde. There are accompanying articles explaining the Holy Face in English and Spanish taken from the official website of the Shrine of the Holy Face in Manoppello: www.voltosanto.it. The exhibit is situated just to the right of the Main Altar of the church adjacent to the Baptismal font and to the statue of St. Joseph. In the photograph can be seen Fr. Goode together with the parishioner Placida Nava who had just returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is close to Highway 101 at 1425 Bay Road, just about half way between the cities of San Francisco and San Jose. The pastor hopes that the exhibit of the Holy Face will be a source of hope, inspiration and prayer for the many people who attend this church whose lives are often difficult.

Hello, Ray --

Thank you for starting this blog, which I just came across, and for posting about the current exhibit at St. Francis of Assisi. The links to important websites and articles are especially helpful.

I was at St. Francis briefly and had time to see part of the exhibit. It is impossible to look at these images and not be filled with deep awe and wonder.

It is a great privilege to have this exhibit in the Bay Area. I hope it will receive wide publicity and that many will take this opportunity to see these most remarkable images. Perhaps Catholic San Francisco would be interested in publishing a feature article?

Along the same line, has there been, or will there be, local presentations by Paul Badde or other lectures on the history of this image? Or perhaps a way to get together with others for discussion, or perhaps even particular devotions? It would be a shame to let such a great opportunity escape us while this exhibit is with us.

Many thanks to you Aida, you have some good ideas : an article in the Catholic San Francisco and some lectures by Paul Badde. Let us put this in the hands of Our Lady.

In the mean time it is my intention to leave the exhibit at St. Francis for as long as possible, even forever.

Tomorrow February 15 another exhibit of Paul Badde's photographs of the Holy Face of Manoppello will be inaugurated in the parish library of St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.

I hope to have the opportunity to speak with you about your ideas and God willing, this special image of Jesus will continue to
gladden and enlighten the world, especially our part of California.
